John started Fortman Insurance Services in the fall of 1978 by obtaining a license in Health & Life Insurance and began writing Life Insurance. A bit further down the road, he acquired his Property & Casualty License and started to represent Property & Casualty Insurance Companies. His wife, Catherine, joined him in the business in 1982, and they are proud that they have built their business from scratch and are now at 15 employees – and two locations, Ottawa and Bluffton, Ohio. Their agency has been a member of the Professional Insurance Association and the Big I Independent Insurance Association. Their agency is licensed with over 50 different insurance companies to serve your needs. In John's free time, he plays a variety of sports, including racquetball, pickleball, bicycling and also enjoys traveling.
